Printing With Trees 15/5/26 Urban Tree Fest

Using the historic photo process of ‘cyanotype’ we will make stunning sunprints showing the silhouettes of London leaves and branches. Watch your print as it magically turns blue in water. Take your print home when it’s dry. We will be looking closely at the patterns and shapes we see in trees and leaves and learning to identify them.

Tickets are £20 with half that going towards the Urban Festival, and half towards Sarah’s materials.

This workshop is led by multi-disciplinary artist Sarah Garrod. Sarah uses plant alchemy to make inks, toners and photographic emulsions and is a leading pioneer in sustainable photography processes. Sarah has printed entire trees using the cyantoype process (her piece “Daggers” is on display at the venue as part of the Urban Forest exhibition). She delivers fun workshops that get people hands-on with plants, and thinking about climate change.
